Yes, I've tried localhost also. Didn't work. Seems to
need a hard IP number of a name from /etc/hosts.
Don't recall if I used 127.0.0.1 or not.

Subject: [lug] Does xdmcp not bind to localhost somehow?
More of my quest for glory with gdm and vnc.
I'm now trying to use vnc with -query to "localhost" and it won't work. The
minute I put in my real machine's name, it does. Anyone seen this before?
I'd like it to be bound to "localhost" since the name can change and it has
to be user proof. Additionally, I'd really like to feed this through the
loopback for performance.
[harrija at munch bin]$ grep localhost /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
[harrija at munch bin]$ Xvnc :8 -query localhost -geometry 1024x768 -depth 8

Any ideas? Thanks!
