Yes, it is installed.  I was looking through the installation manual I found
the section that discusses Firewall Configuration.  This is where I set the
security level to medium.  The medium setting does not allow, e.g. telnet and
ftp.  Now I know why I can't get into the machine, I just can't find the file
to edit that will allow me to.
