First off, people complaining about "attachments" are using MUAs with
broken MIME support.  Mutt does not use attachments for signatures.

If you're using emacs (and what right-thinking person doesn't) for
your editor, I recommend the mailcrypt elisp package
(http://mailcrypt.sourceforge.net) to make POS (plain old signatures)
a snap.
