Much has been made of Microsoft's "improved security" posture.

I just configured a Compaq laptop running XP Professional. Being the
paranoid type that I am, I checked the services list.

IIS, SMTP, and FTP were all installed and running in the default
configuration.

I guess this means the next NIMDA worm will still have plenty of machines to
choose from...
