For the supported map types on your system, try "postconf -m".  My box
tells me:
pcre
nis
regexp
environ
ldap
btree
unix
hash

on a SuSE 6.4 box.  I've compiled in the pcre and gdbm (hash) stuff
before, linux and solaris, but it's been a little while.  Building gdbm
1.8.0 was a bit of a pain in the neck because of a fault with the gnu
Makefile.

A post hit the postfix list last week about the newest sleepycat db, but I
don't know if anyone has tried it yet.
