Use the 686 version of any packages if you are on a 686 (PPro,
P-II/P-III, Celeron and compatibles). Use the 386 version if you
don't. For packages that don't have a 686 version, use the 386
version. If you aren't sure about your processor, use the 386 version
(the loss in efficiency is very small). There is no conflict between
using some 686 packages and some 386 packages (indeed, this is necessary
because most packages are not available from Red Hat in a 686 build).
