[lug] [OT] Mail accessibility...

Hi, everyone.
Sorry I haven't chimed in on the Feb. 14th thread yet, I'm gonna get
to that this afternoon. If there's a good answer to this question, it
would greatly improve my accessibility when I'm on campus.
End goal: To check mail from a POP3 account from machines that only
have web browsers.
1) Does anyone know of a decent webmail system that can query a POP3
account, doesn't append advertising garbage to the bottom of messages,
and doesn't require me having a server somewhere to install it on? I
was trying to use the demo server on http://www.horde.org/imp/
yesterday, which has a *nice* interface, but couldn't send messages
for some reason.
2) Alternatively, is there a java-based ssh client that could run in a
web browser? If so, I could just have my mail forwarded to a different
server so I could ssh to it.
Problem is, my laptop is *heavy* and I'm tired of lugging it around
everywhere, so I've just been taking my handspring visor and targus
keyboard - which lack email connectivity. If more of campus had
802.11, I'd consider something for the visor, but that's almost
certainly out of my price range.
