[lug] CVS? Syncing repositories?

It's impossible to do in an automated fashion, without risk that it will
break something. You still need a human being to properly merge conflicting
code.
Hierachical repository structures have the same problems that flat ones
(single repos) do, along with their own set of problems, such as this one.

I've often wanted to do the same thing, but never found a way. About all
I know of is to use the two step process you mention above. Would be
rather nice if there were a cvs version of rsync that could directly
update or merge one repository into the next in a single step.
