Well ... I was just looking at an O'Reilly document on how to build an
access point using Linux

It makes sense to me that one would need to talk to the NIC on one hand
and the 802.11 card on the other.  It also makes sense to have dhcpd and
NAT running in order to create a pool of IP addresses on the wireless
side.  However, in my case, there is already a dhcp server running, and
the thought was to simply use that to hand out IP addresses to any
wireless nodes that would try to connect.  Not sure if that is possible,
or even if it is a good idea?
