Hi folks,
I've rtfm-ed, sorted through some (out-of-date?) list archives, and am
now seeking opinions on linux support for el-cheapo pcmcia 802.11b
cards. Per:
  http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ftp/SUPPORTED.CARDS
the (+/- $65) "PrismII based cards" (orinoco_cs driver) have only
"limited functionality".
So can someone please provide:
  - a first-hand account of how good/bad these cards are, and/or
  - a recommendation for a decent/cheap alternative?
I can't afford a base station and don't have broadband at home (yet) but
would like access to public WLANs and at a few friend's residences...
thanks (and my apologies for re-hashing this topic),
Ed
