not sure if it is a typo but your [printers] section seems to be missing
an opening [
it also looks like "send Postscript..." should be commented out, ditto
for "to allow user..."

also someone mentioned that trying to host the driver for the windows
boxes is causing problems. I don't use that functionality so I can't
respond to that one. I do store the drivers on a share on the same
machine that serves the printers so I just browse to it when I need to
install.
Also, when I said can your linux machines print to the printer via smb,
I was referring to an option in the printtool for rh 7.2 (which probably
won't apply since you use mandrake). I have the option of setting up
the print queue as a unix/lpd printer or as a windows/smb printer. I
assume the linux boxes just print using the standard commands (and that
it is using the underlying cups system). What I suggest is trying to
configure it to print to the printer as if it were attached to a windows
box (i.e. via samba instead of lpd).
