Hmmm ... I'll have to check this next time I load it.  I do know that when
you shut it down it does at least clean up after itself.  I've also used
Applixware, but it starts a number of deamons whose function I don't
understand and which stay alive when you close the main program.  I found
that extremely strange if not simply disturbing.
