[lug] Xsession: Logon for <user> disabled!

Hi,

I have a new installation of SuSe 7.3  with multiple users.
Users with local accounts on the machine, are able to login successfuly. 
However users who are served by NIS get the message 
Xsession: Logon for <user> disabled! 
when trying to login on the console.
The same users are successful in logining in remotely.

I will appreciate any help.
