Hello Folks.. I'm newbie to Linux.. and find some
irritating drawback on my Linux (I use Mandrake 8.2)..
When I open some website using Garleon or Netscape or
Mozilla or Konquer.. the fonts always screwed.. I mean
the font looks very ugly.. I tried to install windows
fonts (TTF font).. first I install the xfstt and then
I do xset +fp unix/:7100 then xfstt --sync then I add
the font path to XF86Config.. after that I checked the
font using xfontsel(i forgot the command)..it lists
all my fonts (including the ttf fonts)..
but when I open my control center and tried to change
some of the font.. it only listed the linux font.. I
couldn't find the ttf font..
can Linux(browser in linux) use ttf fonts ?
any suggestion ?
ps: I already read the font howto..and do all the
command in the howto but these fonts problem still
persists..
regards,
Jeff
