Yes, the D-Link DWL-650 is a Prism2.  See:

  http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ftp/SUPPORTED.CARDS

where they say its mostly supported by the orinoco_cs driver.  From the
linux-wvlan folks, the driver support for the Prism2 (and 2.x) cards
goes like this:

  wvlan_cs:  sometimes works w/ Prism2

  orinoco_cs:  better than wvlan_cs for Prism2

  wlan-ng:  the next-generation linux-wlan drivers at 

               http://www.linux-wlan.com/

            are supposed to *fully* support Prism2 and work 
            well as both a client and as an access point
