I believe it is possible to dual install versions of openssl. Unless the
prior version has a security problem, try installing not as update, but
as a regular install. Otherwise, collect all of the packages that need
this install, based on a newer rpm that also uses newer openssl, and
name all of them on the command line for rpm update at the same time.
Hopefully someone else has a less painful answer.
