hello,
I just got a used DS9400 tape drive. according to the adic on-line
manual for the DS9000 products, I should use a DLTTAPE III, and the
DS9400 uses a quantum DLT4000 drive for its internals.Any who..lol,
I searched ebay and found lots of Quantum DLTTape IIIs. However all
the specs listed on the sellers site say the tapes are desighned
for a DLT2000 drive. Upon comparison of the two differnt drive styles
I found DLT4000 can read older DLT tapes including those written buy
a DLT2000 but I could find no mention of the ablity to write to a tape
designed for a DLT2000. Im new to tape....could someone tell me
if it would be ok to use a Quantum DLTTape III in a ADIC DS9400.
