[lug] network issue/redhat linux 8.0

I installed Linux Red Hat 8.0. It appears that it recognised my
3com card, as when the network utility is brought up, it shows the
3com card info, and is associated with device eth0. However, when
I try to "activate" the device (a feature of the utility), it
responds by saying that it cannot be activated. Any thoughts?
