It's a YMFPCI chipset -- it's supported by both ALSA and the kernel
(2.4, at least -- when I had my Vaio, it was only in Alsa.)
You are running a 2.4 kernel, correct? As root, try doing a modprobe --
I think it's the ymfpci module.
