Related to this, what (besides price) differentiates registrars? How would I be able to tell a "good" one from a "bad" one, assuming there are no other services, like web hosting, that they provide me? Are there different levels of reliability?

I have two domains. One is with NetSol, the other with OpenSRS (if I recall correctly) via tummy. Apart from the cost, and the fact that NetSol sends me a lot of junk mail, I can't tell the difference. I guess that's good.
