Compaq site and wasn't getting very far.

That device node is specific to the Compaq RAID controller.
I've never used that particular controller, but it makes sense to
configure a single disk on a RAID controller as a RAID 0 to allow for
future expansion.

Looks like you have to do some device-specific stuff for this
controller.
Not sure if you need a special fdisk or just a special device.
