You can do it.  I did it once to keep a box locked on rawhide.  All you
need to do is put a rawhide depository in /etc/apt/sources.list.  In
fact this is my favorite way to keep GNOME and KDE up to rawhide. 
Otherwise I'm spending a lot of time with FTP.

Of course, now I run some packages that Redhat has disavowed (e.g.,
galeon), so I get broken dependencies everywhere.
