Hmm.. I'm not sure what I may have done wrong.

When I had it in that configuration, I could ping the LAN ip of
the device, 10.0.0.3 but I couldn't ping the gateway on the Linksys
10.0.0.1. Basically, I couldn't get beyond the D-Link.

I had:
Internet ->
	MS 1000 -> 
	   Linksys (10.0.0.1) ->
		->PC 1 (10.0.0.100)
		->PC 2 (10.0.0.102)
		->Sun  (10.0.0.10)
		->D-Link LAN (10.0.0.3)
		->Laptop (10.0.0.11)

All static.
