You can swap drive assignments in LILO, and presumably GRUB as 
well.  I used that a while back when I had Linux one disk and 
Win9x on a second disk - Linux was the master and could mount 
Windows on /dev/hdb, but I could also boot Windows and it thought 
it was drive C:, not drive D:.
