[lug] Can't Change hostname on Redhat 9.0

I'm working with a Redhat 9.0 box whose hostname was not entered during
the OS installation (i.e., defaulted to localhost.localdomain).  I'm
trying to change it, but it doesn't seem to take.

I have tried using the GUI (from the GNOME main menu, go to "System
Settings"->"Network") and changing it there.  I can see that it changes
/etc/hosts.  I tried rebooting (after trying restarting network
services), still no joy.

Am I missing something?
