Or, if you get bored, try XFce4.  I run it because GNOME was starting to
hurt my dual PIII 550 (well, Nautilus, I bet), so I wanted something
light that looked good.  XFce4 is all GTK2 so I get my anti-aliased
fonts which are 80% of the eye-candy I need.

As for distro, as Jeff said, most should work.  I'd probably stay away
from Gentoo (or other source-based distros) because it'd take a while to
compile things on a 200 MHz.  But, if taking that time isn't a factor,
Gentoo can be made as small as you need it.
