[lug] Printing woes, reprised

Here's an additional piece of info that I've uncovered as I wander
further down the path of confusion.

ptal-init setup finds the printer, identifies it, then says it can't
communicate with it ("timer popped" message.)

I grabbed the hpoj from sf (0.91) and built/installed it.
