Bah, ignore that reply. The large keyboard connector means it is a 
serial port like /dev/ttyS0, so this does not apply. Not sure what to 
tell you for that, except that perhaps testing another keyboard (if 
possible) could narrow down the cause to the keyboard itself or to the 
o/s and drivers.
