[lug] Mozilla mail on dual-boot PC, visibile in both?

While Mail is a hot topic .. :-)

My dual-boot PC has
 - WinME (aka Win98 ..)
 - current RedHat (aka Krud 9)

Any pointers to writeups on making Mozilla OS-transparent?
e.g. - read same mail folders no matter which OS is booted?

I've read one tip that says find
   prefs.js
in Linux, and, for each top-level directory listed:
  - delete it
  - make a symlink to the corresponding MS-DOS directory

Same tip says some OS-uniquenesses will remain, e.g. ^M instead of ^J.
