[lug] tcpdump, routing, ppp, and cable modem questions(s)

Hi.  Sorry about that.  I didn't word things right.  What I meant was that
the ppp interface vanished at the same time.  I use ppp for dialout and
it shouldn't have anything to do with the cable modem setup, I would
think, but they both happened at the same time.
