I didn't find any problems with ext2, jfs, or reiserfs (those were the ones I
tested).
As far as the ftp distro information goes - I see that SuSE now posts their
9.1 personal CD iso so I would expect that you can at least find the personal
edition files. What you may be missing is server type software, which won't
keep your system from booting but it may keep your system from being
productive in case you suffer from a version conflict. If you depend of
software like jakarta-tomcat... then I would look into the ftp archive and
verify that you can find 9.1 RPMs for all the software that you have
installed.
I like SuSE's quality software and try to support them by purchasing their
upgrades when they come out (around $40 for the professional version). FYI -
when I last purchased an upgrade I got the full professional product. I guess
you simply need to qualify for their upgrade pricing but you get the full CD,
which is nice in case you want to do a new install.
