It sounds like this is different, but I got the same error after I
compiled 5.0.1 with 4.3.8 already installed. My problem was that I
hadn't removed the appropriate lines in httpd.conf. I couldn't even
start and you said your errors are intermittent, but I thought I would
chime in anyway.
