Doesn't matter. Graphical install mode works fine, this is the VESA
framebuffer. The problem is during X11 setup. Being in text mode still
tries to set up X11 if X11 is installed. This results in catastrophic
failure.

I never get that far. When it gets to setting up video and X config it
chokes. I want it to skip video and X11 setup entirely so it will finish
install, and then find the problem later.

This is never reached. It says something like starting X11 and dies. I'm
never offered a chance to skip X11 config. Apparently the option to not
configure X occurs after it does the initial X startup (perhaps an
installer snafu).

According to the manual there will be a video card selection
window...but it initializes the X server prior to offering that so I
never get a chance to tell it no.
