All the files have the the same ownership and permissions. Once
created, the files are static. In the tests I've been running, it was
all on prior days of data so no chance of new files being written.
During these tests, sometimes a tar file of a particular day of data
will be OK, and other times it has problems. I've never found a created
tarball on the local machine to have problems. Only after sending it
back here.
