Broken or correct, it depends on your point of view.  The "-1" or "+250"
options have been deprecated and replaced with "-n 1" and "-n +250",
etc.

You can probably get the old behavior back by setting the
POSIXLY_CORRECT environment variables.  Be warned that if you leave that
variable set, your commands will really suck.
