Part of the problem, I am guessing, is that the failure was on x86_64. I
don't mind occasional dependency problems, fedora is the same way. But
this was just selecting the basic workstation options, very vanilla. It
could also be that it may have grabbed some packages off of the security
updates deb site which had dependencies not included on the spindle.
I did have better luck on Intel chipsets using the net install method.
But it was my servers that I was really hoping to use Debian with.

They all bring pain and grief one way or another. It is the nature of
complex systems. In the end, I chose to use what I was most used to.
