[lug] Need help making a flash drive cross platform functional

Both of the 128-meg flash devices I have contain FAT16 file systems.
(One is a Dell-branded USB thumbdrive; the other is a compact flash
card I use for my six-year-old digital camera.) I've never had any
problems reading these flash devices on Windows and Linux systems, but
I've never tried a Mac.

It's possible that FAT16 is more compatible with Macs than FAT32.
