I forgot to mention that I already had done that google and tried to take
their advice as I documented at
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?p=400556#post400556 . I tried
it again, just for fun.
Here is what I get:
Transaction Check Error: package
kernel-module-ntfs-2.6.11-1.1369_FC4smp-2.1.22-0.rr.6.0 (which is newer
than kernel-module-ntfs-2.6.11-1.1369_FC4smp-2.1.22-0.lvn.2.4) is already
installed
I had already received a response to this from "markuk":
" You have already installed one NTFS driver package
(kernel-module-ntfs-2.6.11-1.1369_FC4smp-2.1.22-0.rr.6.0 from
linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net) so you can't install the NTFS driver from Livna.
Use either one of those packages, don't try to install both."
I wonder if there are two versions of the NTFS file system: this one and the
one already installed as indicated by "cd /usr/src/linux ; make menuconfig";
Anybody got any other ideas?
I'm also getting not getting smbfs to work as documented at
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?p=402548#post402548
I wonder if I could help with this at the install fest this Saturday.

Google for "Fedora Core 4 NTFS" and the first two links it returns are:
