[lug] Ubuntu desktop problems

Hello,
 I recently got a Z60m ThinkPad. I am using multimon with a mac 22"
cinema display. Works pretty good overall. But I have a few issues :\

1. Sometimes windows don't come to the front as expected. Like
when a msg comes via gaim , or I open a new web browser.

2. I could not get xinerama working. So , I'm using the firegl
driver and I have each monitor set up independently. I can't drag stuff 
between the two. But that's not a big deal. The big problem is when
I start Firefox on display 1 then I try to start one on display 2,
it tells me my profile is already in use (display 1). How can
I have both desktops use the same profile , at the same time :)

4. 3ddeskd runs at 100% all the time :\ So I don't run it.

3. Last issue is most of the time switching desktops on display
two doesn't work. I can always switch to the very next desktop , but it
wont switch to anything else after that. 

Can anyone help me with any of these problems?
