That's been my experience too, especially since version 1.0 (and it was really
good even before that).

As to the Perl bindings being ugly: how could anything in Perl *not* be ugly?

Subversion is really nice.  It may be limited compared to newer ways of doing
things, but if you just want a CVS that works right, you want Subversion.  CVS
was/is a disaster in my opinion, but I've never had any complaints using
Subversion.
