Was the non-standard port a way to obfuscate SSH or were they blocking
port 22?  So each user/modem is issued a publicly reachable IP
address?  I guess for some reason I was thinking they would issue each
user an RFC1918 address and NAT those through a block of public IPs to save
on addresses.
