I'm getting similar hdparm results on my SATA base install while my raid1
resynchs. Any way to better gauge my SATA performance?

Also.  are there any (good) optimization tools for sata?  i understand
hdparm is only good for testing SATA but not optimizations and perhaps
even dangerous.
