You know, I really should have written that down... it was very old,
though. At least two years. I was having problems with settings
spontaneously changing, and with getting new settings to actually
stick. I came to the conclusion that it was time to see if bugs had
been fixed.

I can't even get that far. About ten seconds into the boot process,
while the power and DSL lights are blinking, it reboots, going back to
the red power light. Several seconds later, the power and DSL lights
start blinking green again... then, back to the red power light. This
process repeats indefinitely, as far as I can tell.

Ethernet never comes up. If there's something I can do with the reset
button, other than attempting a hard reset (in which case the power
light starts out red and stays that way for half an hour), I think
it's a brick.

I suspect this comes from trying to go from a very old version of the
firmware directly to the newest. Not that I really know for sure, of
course. Stupid blinking lights. These are the times one wishes for a
low-level serial console and a bootloader with decent diagnostics.
I'll bet there's a way to make it work, if I could just get to a
useful point. Alas.
