Yeah, I talked to him tonight and he said that at least for the
moment, it's been behaving since the last time I went over there and
beat it with a stick (messed with his Ethernet speeds, and strangely
10 Mb/s seemed to work better than anything else).
He's not running multiple machines, so the 10 Mb/s limitation isn't
bothering him at all.
He said he'd complain to Qwest if it wigged out again, but he also
mentioned that he's leasing the modem because he's had it since it
was a business expense (it's not now)...
So I probably should go over sometime and having talked to FRII in
advance, see if we can swap the 678 in. If nothing else so he can
stop paying the silly lease on the Actiontec.
But he did say that if you badly want the 678, it's yours. No
worries. With the Actiontec on lease, he figured he could probably
get them to replace it the next time it freaks out. ;-) Or sell him
one that works and get off the leasing thing that way.

Interesting.

Yeah, figured I'd talk to them first before doing anything... of
course! (GRIN)
Chris and/or Frank -- let me know if you need this 678... if not,
I'll start the process of getting a date set up with FRII to try it
out over there. Dad's not all that interested since the Actiontec is
"working" for him right now.
