[lug] how to change default app under xubuntu/xfce

I have sorted it out.
Xubuntu runs the Thunar file manager.
I opened it, went to edit-->> preferences --> file manager preferences
--> Configure removable drives and media -
and then changed "totem cdda:" to grip.
