I'm happy with register.com.  $35/yr or whatever just isn't that
much, really, in real dollars, for the convenience of having
pretty configurable DNS support also.  They also have an
"autorenew" feature if that's important to you.

Yeah, there are cheaper places; yeah, domains used to be free.
Having them host the DNS on multiple servers with multiple
network connections is worth the difference to me.
