Damn.  Got me.  ;^)

It's small enough that you can audit the entire codebase
yourself.  I trust my friend, but I looked through the code
anyway out of curiosity how he was doing things.

I run find / -ls every night on rapidly changing systems, and
aide or tripwire on all of 'em, so the "scan" part does depend on
your access level.
