Excellent message...

You see, this message was sent as a reply to my message, but with the
subject changed. In the headers you see:

    In-Reply-To: <4819E219.8040401 at tummy.com>
    Subject: [lug] Determining CPU usage

meaning that even though a person would think this was the start of a new
thread, a program would most likely think it's a continuation of the thread
on e-mail thread processing.

This and the inverse are why the original poster may see a "thread" split
up into multiple threads, and will probably see multiple threads joined.
If someone replies to a thread but doesn't set the "In-Reply-To"
header, it may not show up as part of a thread unless you somehow otherwise
do thread tracking.

I'm not sure if JWZ's algorithm takes this into consideration, but it
probably does.
