another feature about amarok that I like is the "suggested music" 
feature.  when a song plays, the context pane shows you other music in 
your collection that others like too.  I'm pretty sure it just queries 
last.fm for that.

there are also dynamic playlists that allow you to pick a single song 
and then choose "Suggested Songs" and it will populate your playlist 
with artists that are "similar" to what you chose to start.  generally, 
I just set it to random mode and queue certain tracks if the desire 
strikes me.
