This guy's blog was brought to my attention this week, and it's
hilarious. Great stuff.

[Content warning: He's a foul-mouth, sarcastic, and grumpy as hell...
all part of the show. Maybe NSFW, depending on your particular W place.]
He really gets to the crux of not just Linux problems, but problems with
computing in general. His article "The Fallacy of Choice" is classic.

I've been sneaking in some "me" time every night this week to continue
backward through his posts. I laugh out loud at almost every one of them.
And the more I read it... the more I realize I wasn't alone in my
thinking that Linux as a Desktop OS... really does suck... for those who
don't want 1000 "choices" as to what they want to do, and who actually
want things to work when they use them, etc.
I used to spend night after night after night configuring, tweaking, and
playing with Linux desktops... and I got exactly what he talks about as
a theme in his postings... a broken desktop that some dumb developer
somewhere broke (yet again) at every release of [insert distro-du-jour
here] I was using, where nothing ever got better, but lately -- the
windows can jiggle! Did you see the windows jiggle??
Nope. Never loaded compwiz, and don't care. Do we have a reasonable
replacement for Excel or Visio yet? No? Okay, I'll be over in my
virtual machine doing some real work... sorry. Got things to do.
[Deep breath]... I think this guy is really me blogging in my sleep.
This short one about the current state of Ubuntu made me giggle:

And he got right to the bottom-line (pun intended) in this one:

I hate to sound like a troll, but I think there's some folks here who
really have been frustrated with Linux -- seriously frustrated -- and
this guy does at least call out the BS the "community" expounds...
"It'll be better because it's community tested!"... uh-huh...
"You have all sorts of choices"... yeah, that's great but do any of them
WORK?
... Etc.
Read it whatever way you like, as entertainment, or a real rant, or as a
kindred thinker, or a complete loon... but he's right on a lot of things...
It was just too on the mark not to share.
His "How to make a GNOME App" is bloody brilliant, too...
